    It is instructive and in confirmation of his thesis that the inventors of the telegraph, telephone and the airplane were individuals of very limited means but natural genius. That Bell was also interested in the new aviation, much like Musk is interested in space travel.

    Another great talk by the best pipes in the CW history game. I love Dr Guelzo’s conservative take on history, a nice counterpoint to the (also excellent) more progressive historians out there.

    Very perceptive observation regarding Woodrow Wilson and the impression Reconstruction made on him and why Allied troops were pulled out Germany after WWI, leading to WWII, by which time Wilson was dead.

    Wilson was born before the war ended and hated the North as a child. He could remember the armies marching past his house.

    I disagree. The fall of the Soviet Union as well as the communist dictatorships in Romania, East Germany, etc. were all Bourgeois Revolutions.
